Flowers Painting

Hayat, a word so simple, so elegant, yet so rich in meaning. Hayat in its literal meaning represents life. It holds a great representation in our culture and Islam. It encourages followers of Allah to deflect anything that’s considered distasteful or abominable. It depicts the fusion of challenges and people that we come across in life and therein lies my depiction of this message in the myriad of colors fused together as the background of this art piece. It’s very close to my heart because it incorporates my 2 true identities, my art, and my religion. This piece is another one in my alcohol ink art series but with a twist of writing in it. The base includes alcohol ink flowers and leaves and has the bold and meaningful word HAYAT written in Arabic in the middle to signify how life is a bed of roses, life is a bouquet of flowers or life is like the leaves of a tree, that is, it encompasses a myriad of meanings and metaphors whose interpretation I like to leave up to the viewers of this piece!
