Mother Acrylic Painting

A mother’s journey is truly remarkable, the hard work, love, positivity & above all - the determination to never give up. A salute to all those mothers for believing that someday their daughters will be given an equal chance in society.

As an urban art sketcher, the artist decided to experiment with this art piece with sketches using different art mediums. The silhouette of the girl in green (the color green signifies growth) comprises tiny sketches of women who have chosen different paths in their lives and fulfilled their dreams. The artist has only highlighted the NATH (a nose ring is a typical Indian bridal symbol) on the mother’s face to subtly emphasize the mother's social boundaries yet willingness to sacrifice & challenge herself for her child’s future. The artist has specifically used the tones of grey to depict the different boundaries the mother lives within but at the same time, there exist sparks of fearlessness (orange highlights) within. The slight touch of colors in the background are colors of hope that are always floating around in the universe.
